The iconic drum sound of Led Zeppelin’s When the Levee Breaks is one of the most legendary in rock history—massive, raw, and drenched in natural ambience. This sample pack is a tribute to that unmistakable, room-filling tone.
With these drum samples we’ve faithfully recreated the original sound using a 1970s Green Sparkle kit paired with Bonham’s revered Ludwig Supraphonic LM402 snare. The high room mic setup was meticulously replicated to capture the powerful, natural reverb that defined the track. We’ve also emulated the classic tape delay famously used by engineer Andy Johns, bringing even more authenticity to the sound.
We’ve meticulously captured the legendary sound of When The Levee Breaks in what we call Traditional Bonham - a faithful tribute to the classic, thunderous style that defined a generation.
But we didn’t stop there.

I think, it’s a great way to make your drums sound like Bonham, it’s very realistic. The Kontakt player version is very funny to use with a midi drums track, I like it.

A breath of Fresh Drums to the table
I had already bought the Nirvana ones, plus Modern Snares. I was always interested in the Bonham sound. Originally two Microphones on a stairwell, it shows what you can do with limited equipment (and imagination/choices). Today is no excuse, so having these samples in your arsenal are welcomed. I personally have preferred to get the drum sound at source, but we can't all have John Bonham at our finger tips and the outboard that was available at that given time. These have helped shape the sound of the kit for me. I look forward to the next instalment.

Brilliantly Engineered. Super characterful sounds. So useable.
I have a lot of drum libraries. I make a lot of different genres of music for work. They're all good but with so many they just miss that character that makes you excited. I don't normally buy things because of adverts but I took the plunge with these. So glad I did. They are so useable. So well produced. So alive straight out of the box. I bought the QOTSA and LedZep one. You can use these for many genres, so well priced. I will be buying more, super impressed.
